Personalizing Products

You can allow your shoppers to add custom text to a product when adding product items to their carts. This is useful, for example, if you have a product like a T-shirt that can be personalized or you sell greetings cards that can be printed with your shoppers personalized messages. You can do this by configuring the the custom_inputs attribute.

  1. Go to Product Experience Manager > Products.

  2. From All Products, navigate to the product you want to personalize.

  3. Select the product to edit it.

  4. Expand Personalization.

  5. Select New Custom Input.

  6. Configure the following fields:

    Custom Input KeyRequiredEnter a name for the custom input field, for example, Front or Back.
    Custom Input NameOptionalEnter a descriptive name for the type of custom text a shopper can add, for example, T-Shirt Front, or T-Shirt Back.
    Maximum lengthOptionalYou can add a maximum length. For example, the input field must be 50 characters in length. The limit is 255 characters.
    Required InputOptionalToggle Required Input on if a shopper must specify some personalization text.

  1. Select Save & Exit or Next, depending on your requirements.
