What is a Template?

A template is a collection of attributes grouped to define specific types of products, or provide structured metadata for non-product use cases like SEO. Templates can be created at both the organization and store level, and they allow you to apply uniform attribute sets across various products.

tip

Each product can have one or more templates, but an attribute can only be linked to a single template. Templates must be created before assigning attributes, and each attribute can only be assigned to one template. If an attribute field for a product is left blank, it would still be displayed on the product page, but it would not be visible to the customer.

Applied Examples

Click on each of the tabs below to see examples of how templates might be applied across various products and industries. The templates display the key information customers would see on a storefront, enhancing the shopping experience while supporting marketing and search capabilities behind the scenes.
