Creating Item-level Promotions

Hierarchy-based promotions are not supported for fixed bundle discount promotion and free gift promotion.

Creating X for Y Discount Promotions

Use this procedure to create promotions such as, such as 2-for-1 sales. In this promotion, 2 SKU1s are sold for the price of 1. In this example, X is 2 and Y is 1.

We recommend not to set maximum discount value for this promotions. Setting maximum discount value for this promotion conflicts with the promotion settings.

  1. Go to Store > Promotions.

  2. Click Add Promotion.

  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the promotion.

  4. In the Description field, enter a description for the promotion.

  5. In the Date range field, select the start date and time and end date and time of the promotion.

  6. In the Promotion type field, select X for Y.

  7. To enable the promotion, click the Enabled toggle.

  8. To automatically apply the promotion, click the Automatic toggle. If this field is not selected, the promotion requires the buyer to enter a code in the cart to get the discount. For more information, see the Adding codes section.

  9. (Optional) In the Minimum cart value section, click Add minimum cart value. The Set minimum cart value window is displayed.

    1. In the Amount field, enter a minimum cart value before the promotion can be applied
    2. In the Select currency field, select a currency. You can add one or several value specifications in different currencies. For more information about currencies, see the Managing Currencies in Commerce Manager section.
  10. (Optional) In the Quantity limit per use field, specify the maximum number of application of a promotion per cart for a single use of a promotion.

    Each unique product in the cart will qualify for a promotion for X number of times depending upon what you specified in the Quantity limit per use field. For example, if the Quantity limit per use field is set to 1, and SKU A and SKU B are in the cart with a quantity of two each, only one instance of each SKU A and SKU B will qualify for a promotion.

  11. In the Define schema section, do the following.

    1. In the X/Y values subsection:

      1. Click Specify X/Y values. The Add X and Y Value window is displayed.
      2. In the X value and Y value fields, specify the values for X and Y. For example, for a promotion 2 for 1, X is 2 and Y is 1.
      3. Click Save.
    2. In the Catalogs field, select the catalogs to be applied for this promotion from the list. If you do not select any catalogs from the list, all catalogs will be applied for the promotion.

    3. In the Promotion Conditions subsection, do the following:

      1. Click Add Promotion Condition.

      2. In the Condition Type field, choose one of the following to be included in a promotion:

        • Attributes
        • Hierarchies or Nodes
        • SKUs or Product IDs
      3. If you choose Attributes, do the following:

        1. In the Template Slug field, select the template slug from the list.
        2. In the Attribute slug field, select the Attribute slug from the list.
        3. Enter the Attribute Value.
        4. Click Add Condition.
      4. If you choose Hierarchies or Nodes, in the Hierarchy/Node UUIDs, enter the IDs of the hierarchies or nodes that you want to include in a promotion, and then click Add Condition.

      5. If you choose SKUs or Product IDs type, in the SKUs/Product IDs, enter the IDs or SKUs of the products that you want to include in a promotion, and then click Add Condition.

    4. In the Excludes subsection, do the following:

      1. Click Add exclude.

      2. In the Condition Type field, choose one of the following to be excluded from a promotion:

        • Attributes
        • Hierarchies or Nodes
        • SKUs or Product IDs
      3. If you choose Attributes, do the following:

        1. In the Template Slug field, select the template slug from the list.
        2. In the Attribute slug field, select the Attribute slug from the list.
        3. Enter the Attribute Value.
        4. Click Add Condition.
      4. If you choose Hierarchies or Nodes, in the Hierarchy/Node UUIDs, enter the IDs of the hierarchies or nodes that you want to exclude from a promotion, and then click Add Condition.

      5. If you choose SKUs or Product IDs type, in the SKUs/Product IDs, enter the IDs or SKUs of the products that you want to exclude from a promotion, and then click Add Condition.

      Excludes subsection is enabled only when you include IDs of the hierarchies or nodes in the Promotion Conditions subsection.

  12. Click Save

Creating X for Amount Discount Promotions

Use this procedure to create promotions such as, such as 3-for-$20 sales. In this promotion, 3 SKU1s are sold for $20.

We recommend not to set maximum discount value for this promotions. Setting maximum discount value for this promotion conflicts with the promotion settings.

  1. Go to Store > Promotions.

  2. Click Add Promotion.

  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the promotion.

  4. In the Description field, enter a description for the promotion.

  5. In the Date range field, select the start date and time and end date and time of the promotion.

  6. In the Promotion type field, select X for amount.

  7. To enable the promotion, click the Enabled toggle.

  8. To automatically apply the promotion, click the Automatic toggle. If this field is not selected, the promotion requires the buyer to enter a code in the cart to get the discount. For more information, see the Adding codes section.

  9. (Optional) In the Minimum cart value field, click Specify values. The Set minimum cart value window is displayed.

    3. In the X/Y values subsection:

      1. Click Specify X/Y values. The Add X Value window is displayed.
      2. In the X value field, specify the value for X.
      3. Click Save.
    4. In the Promotion Conditions subsection, do the following:

      1. Click Add Condition Promotion.

      2. In the Condition Type field, choose one of the following to be included in a promotion:

        • Attributes
        • Hierarchies or Nodes
        • SKUs or Product IDs
      3. If you choose Attributes, do the following:

        1. In the Template Slug field, select the template slug from the list.
        2. In the Attribute slug field, select the Attribute slug from the list.
        3. Enter the Attribute Value.
        4. Click Add Condition.
      4. If you choose Hierarchies or Nodes, in the Hierarchy/Node UUIDs, enter the IDs of the hierarchies or nodes that you want to include in a promotion, and then click Add Condition.

      5. If you choose SKUs or Product IDs type, in the SKUs/Product IDs, enter the IDs or SKUs of the products that you want to include in a promotion, and then click Add Condition.

    5. In the Excludes subsection, do the following:

      1. Click Add exclude.

      5. If you choose SKUs or Product IDs type, in the SKUs/Product IDs, enter the IDs or SKUs of the products that you want to exclude from a promotion, and then click Add Condition.

      Excludes subsection is enabled only when you include IDs of the hierarchies or nodes in the Promotion Conditions subsection.

  12. Click Save.

Creating Bundle Discount Promotions

We recommend not to set maximum discount value for this promotions. Setting maximum discount value for this promotion conflicts with the promotion settings.

  1. Go to Store > Promotions.

  2. Click Add Promotion.

  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the promotion.

  4. In the Description field, enter a description for the promotion.

  5. In the Date range field, select the start date and time and end date and time of the promotion.

  6. In the Promotion type field, select Bundle.

  7. To enable the promotion, click the Enabled toggle.

  8. To automatically apply the promotion, click the Automatic toggle. If this field is not selected, the promotion requires the buyer to enter a code in the cart to get the discount. For more information, see the Adding codes section.

  9. (Optional) In the Minimum cart value field, click Specify values. The Set minimum cart value window is displayed.

    1. In the Amount field, enter a minimum cart value before the promotion can be applied
    2. In the Select currency field, select a currency. You can add one or several value specifications in different currencies. For more information about currencies, see the Managing Currencies in Commerce Manager section.

    1. Click Add currency, and add the amount and currency for the bundle.
    2. Click Save.
    3. Click Bundle requirements > Add requirement and enter the SKU and quantity of the first item in the bundle.
    4. Click Save.
    5. Repeat step 3 to add more items to the bundle.
    6. Click Save.
  12. Click Save.

Example for bundle

For a bundle promotion (SKU1 or SKU2 ) + SKU3 for $20, the promotion is applied if the bundle contains SKU1 and SKU3 or SKU2 and SKU3. Do the following to define schema for this promotion.

  1. Click Add requirement and enter SKU1 and SKU2 separated by a comma.
  2. Click Save.
  3. Click Add requirement again and enter SKU3.
  4. Click Save.

Creating Item Fixed Discount Promotions

We recommend not to set maximum discount value for this promotions. Setting maximum discount value for this promotion conflicts with the promotion settings.

  1. Go to Store > Promotions.

  2. Click Add Promotion.

  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the promotion.

  4. In the Description field, enter a description for the promotion.

  5. In the Date range field, click the start date and time and end date and time of the promotion.

  6. In the Promotion type field, select Item fixed discount.

  7. To enable the promotion, click the Enabled toggle.

  8. To automatically apply the promotion, click the Automatic toggle. If this field is not selected, the promotion requires the buyer to enter a code in the cart to get the discount. For more information, see the Adding codes section.

  9. (Optional) In the Minimum cart value field, click Specify values. The Set minimum cart value window is displayed.

    1. In the Amount field, enter a minimum cart value before the promotion can be applied.
    2. In the Select currency field, select a currency. You can add one or several value specifications in different currencies. For more information about currencies, see the Managing Currencies in Commerce Manager section.

      4. If you choose SKUs or Product IDs type, in the SKUs/Product IDs, enter the IDs or SKUs of the products that you want to exclude from a promotion, and then click Add Condition.

      Excludes subsection is enabled only when you include IDs of the hierarchies or nodes in the Promotion Conditions subsection.

  12. Click Save.

Creating Item Percentage Discount Promotions

  1. Go to Store > Promotions.

  2. Click Add Promotion.

  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the promotion.

  4. In the Description field, enter a description for the promotion.

  5. In the Start date field, select the start time for the promotion.

  6. In the End date field, the end time of the promotion.

  7. In the Promotion type field, select Item percent discount.

  8. To enable the promotion, select the Enabled field.

  9. To automatically apply the promotion, select the Automatic field. If this field is not selected, the promotion requires the buyer to enter a code in the cart to get the discount. For more information, see the Adding codes section.

  10. (Optional) In the Minimum cart value field, click Specify values. The Set minimum cart value window is displayed.

    1. In the Amount field, enter a minimum cart value before the promotion can be applied.
    2. In the Select currency field, select a currency. You can add one or several value specifications in different currencies. For more information about currencies, see the Managing Currencies in Commerce Manager section.
  11. (Optional) In the Maximum discount value field, enter the maximum possible discount amount and currency.

  12. (Optional) In the Quantity limit per use field, specify the maximum number of application of a promotion per cart for a single use of a promotion.

    Each unique product in the cart will qualify for a promotion for X number of times depending upon what you specified in the Quantity limit per use field. For example, if the Quantity limit per use field is set to 1, and SKU A and SKU B are in the cart with a quantity of two each, only one instance of each SKU A and SKU B will qualify for a promotion.

  13. In the Define schema section, do the following:

    1. Click Add percentage, add the percentage, and then click Save.
    2. In the Catalogs field, select the catalogs to be applied for this promotion from the list. If you do not select any catalogs from the list, all catalogs will be applied for the promotion.
    3. (Optional) In the Targets section, to enable the promotion for all products, click the Apply to all products toggle.
    4. In the Promotion Conditions subsection, do the following:
      1. Click Add Promotion Condition.

      2. In the Condition Type field, choose one of the following to be included in a promotion:

        • Attributes
        • Hierarchies or Nodes
        • SKUs or Product IDs
      3. If you choose Attributes, do the following:

        1. In the Template Slug field, select the template slug from the list.
        2. In the Attribute slug field, select the Attribute slug from the list.
        3. Enter the Attribute Value.
        4. Click Add Condition.
      4. If you choose Hierarchies or Nodes, in the Hierarchy/Node UUIDs, enter the IDs of the hierarchies or nodes that you want to include in a promotion, and then click Add Condition.

      5. If you choose SKUs or Product IDs type, in the SKUs/Product IDs, enter the IDs or SKUs of the products that you want to include in a promotion, and then click Add Condition.

    5. In the Excludes subsection, do the following:
      1. Click Add exclude.

      2. In the Condition Type field, choose one of the following to be excluded from a promotion:

        • Attributes
        • Hierarchies or Nodes
        • SKUs or Product IDs
      3. If you choose Attributes, do the following:

        3. Enter the Attribute Value.
        4. Click Add Condition.
      4. If you choose Hierarchies or Nodes, in the Hierarchy/Node UUIDs, enter the IDs of the hierarchies or nodes that you want to exclude from a promotion, and then click Add Condition.

      5. If you choose SKUs or Product IDs type, in the SKUs/Product IDs, enter the IDs or SKUs of the products that you want to exclude from a promotion, and then click Add Condition..

        Excludes subsection is enabled only when you include IDs of the hierarchies or nodes in the Promotion Conditions subsection.

  14. Click Save.

Creating Free Gift Promotions

We recommend not to set maximum discount value for this promotions. This setting doesn’t have any effect on the promotion.

  1. Go to Store > Promotions.

  2. Click Add Promotion.

  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the promotion.

  4. In the Description field, enter a description for the promotion.

  5. In the Date range field, select the start date and time and end date and time of the promotion.

  6. In the Promotion type field, select Free gift.

  7. To enable the promotion, click the Enabled toggle.

  8. To automatically apply the promotion, click the Automatic toggle. If this field is not selected, the promotion requires the buyer to enter a code in the cart to get the discount. For more information, see the Adding codes section.

  9. (Optional) In the Minimum cart value field, click Specify values. The Set minimum cart value window is displayed.

    1. In the Amount field, enter a minimum cart value before the promotion can be applied.

  12. Click Save.
